FINALLY!

WooHoo! I am shouting from the rooftops.

#1 - Because I am FINALLY posting an educational post on my blog.

#2 - Tomorrow is FRIDAY. =)

This year has been a blur. 

Because I started in December, the whole first half of the year is still new to me.

At this point, I'm swimming along, trying to stay afloat.

...And that is not proving to be easy. Haha. 

But, I do love my job, and enough though I am always busy with something, 

I wouldn't have it any other way!!

Okay, on to the educational portion... =)

This week we started SCIENCE.

(We spend half of the 9 weeks on Social Studies and half on science.)

You should have seen the excitement in my kiddos' eyes when I passed out science books...

Let me tell you... it was pure joy. 

They were all begging to take home their science books so they could study. So cute!

Anyways, we started science with our Physical Science unit.

We focus on the states of matter and physical and chemical changes.

This week we have been focusing on the states of matter.

Today to wrap up this portion of the unit, we made a "State of Matter" foldable.

This foldable covers each state (solid, liquid, and gas) and what matter is (in general). It also includes two important things about each state and a place for students to write examples. On the front of the foldable there is room for students to draw a picture of each state (my kiddos personal favorite part.)

This is a quick, easy activity to reinforce the different states of matter.

Tomorrow we are going to talk about physical properties and how we can describe the different states of matter using our senses. We are going to practice recording different physical properties by observing an M&M. This should be fun!
