Tract Learning: A Tool Your Classroom NEEDS!

Project based learning, genius hour, and social emotional learning all three BIG terms in education right now. Although all three of these terms have the ability to powerfully impact our student’s education and classroom experience, it can also be overwhelming to plan and prepare as a teacher. Will my student’s stay on appropriate websites, is it information engaging, is the topic relevant?

As a teacher, I was so excited to discover Tract, a website created to empower students to develop the skills they need to succeed in the 21st century through project-based and peer-to-peer learning in a safe and moderated environment. Tract provides students ages 8 and up with the opportunity to explore new interests and deepen existing passions through classes in a self paced kid-friendly format.

Have I convinced you to give it a try? Simply go to teach.tract.app and use the access code MSSMITH to pilot Tract FREE in your classroom. I got signed up and enjoyed exploring the website and can’t wait to introduce this new site to my kiddos. Below you can see the explore page that you will see once you get logged in. There are so many different learning paths and courses your students can try out.

My favorite tract to explore was “The Secret of Cartoon Characters”. My students that love animation, design, and drawing will LOVE this tract. Students will take a look at what makes a character good or evil based on the way their character is designed. Then - they get to draw their own characters. SO FUN. There is also crafting tracts, a minecraft tract, and even one about taking VINTAGE photos.

I know that this website is going to be a powerful new tool in my classroom and I can’t wait to see my students' critical thinking and problem solving skills grow while their creativity flourishes! Just check out some of the final products from projects completed on the site below.. Simply amazing!
